TSECL is not following the guidelines of the central government; Youth brought allegations against TSECL

The power corporation (TSECL) is not following the guidelines of the central government in implementing projects in the power sector. As a result, ordinary citizens are deprived of the benefits of various welfare schemes including Saubhagya Yojana.

Udaipur residents have brought such allegations against TSECL.

According to him TSECL has not followed the guidelines of MoP for implementing of centrally aided projects like RGGVY/RE-DDUGJY, DDUGJY and SAUBHAGYA scheme and because of that the distribution infrastructure in the rural areas are still not developed and due to which the common men are deprived of the benefits of these centrally aided projects by Ministry of Power due to irresponsiveness of TSECL.

He said that Although central government had funded Rs 775 crore for overall electrification in the rural areas in Tripura like augmentation of existing lines, giving electricity to each household, providing consumer meters to the remaining households but due to not following the strict guidelines of Ministry of Power about pre-qualification criteria for implementing these projects more than 1100 nos. of Distribution Transformer, 2100 km. 11kV line, 600 KM. LT line & 4 no. of substations have remained incomplete after awarding of work and the sad fact is these projects are closed.
