The outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) is suspected to be involved in the incident
Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed on Tuesday when their patrol was ambushed by NLFT militants along the India-Bangladesh international border in Tripura.
Today (03/08/2021) at about 0630 hrs, an exchange of fire between BSF patrolling party and some militants took place in general area of BOP R C Nath, Ex – 64 Bn BSF, Sector HQ BSF Panisagar in the bordering region under Police Station- Chawmanu, Distt- Dhalai Tripura.

Two BSF personnel namely SI Bhuru Singh & CT Raj Kumar sustained fatal injuries & lost their lives.
As per the blood strains available at the spot, militants have reportedly sustained some injuries.
Both our martyrs have fought valiantly before succumbing to their injuries. Massive search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb condemns the cowardly attack against our BSF personnel in Dhalai. In his tweet he said “I strongly condemn the cowardly attack against our BSF personnel in Dhalai. The sacrifices of our brave security personnel shall not go in vain. India stands shoulder to shoulder with the families of our brave martyrs”.
