India will become self-reliant only when mothers and sisters are self-reliant and strong.
For this purpose, the central government has taken multifaceted schemes.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said this while inaugurating the distribution program of agricultural implements and machinery among various self-help groups funded by the West Tripura Zilla Parishad at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan.
On the occasion, the DDUPSP project in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare distributed 4 millet making machines among 4 self-help groups, 85 hand operated paddy threshing machines among 85 self-help groups and 85 battery operated spare machines among 85 beneficiaries of Dukli, Old Agartala and Bamutia block.
1.5 lakh rupees, 7 thousand rupees and 5 thousand rupees have been spent on each agricultural and other machine respectively.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said, “When mothers are economically strong, the village, society, state and country will become strong.
For this purpose, Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission has so far formed 40,000 self-help groups in the state in which 4 lakh women are involved”.
