A meeting of District Development, Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of South Tripura District was held on Tuesday at Belonia Circuit House.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik presided over the meeting.
In the meeting, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said that people’s representatives and government officials should be given the utmost importance in implementing the projects of the central and state governments.
She added, “These programs are adopted for public welfare. There should be coordination between public representatives and government officials in implementing development programs.”
Bhowmik said in the meeting that an initiative has been taken to give tricycles to disabled people of the district.
She added, “Two model Anganwadi Centers will be constructed in Santirbazar and Rajnagar with the MP Area Development Fund. Fisheries and animal husbandry should be given importance to make the people of rural areas self-reliant.”
Bhowmik also emphasized on the implementation of Prime Ministerial flagship projects in the meeting.
