After getting approval from the centre, the vaccine drive among 15-18yrs old teenagers is finally going to start in the state from today.
The registration process has also started from today. Addressing a press meet at the NHM State Office at Palace Compound; the NHM Mission Director Dr. Siddhartth Shib Jaiswal briefed the media about the entire plan of the health department regarding administering these vaccine doses.
At first he briefed a little about the first round of vaccination of 2021.
He then talked about administering the first round of vaccine doses among 15 to 18 years age group from today onwards.
He also said that accepting the seriousness of this hour, all of the nursing staffs, health workers, police and administration officials including all those 60+ adults who have received 2 vaccine doses earlier will be provided the booster dose from January 10 onwards. “Following the new guidelines of NTAGI all of these plans and health schemes have been taken,” said the NHM Mission Director before the press.
NHM Director said “We are having sufficient stock of COVISHEILD and COVAXIN vaccines. It has been decided that registration started from today for the teenagers and adolescents aged between 15 and 18 years while COVAXIN will be administered among them in the first phase”.
“At the time of vaccination, children between 15 and 18 years of age must carry Aadhar card or school ID card as an identity card for vaccination”, he added.
