It is like a “dream come true” moment for every film loving people of this state. Just after the ICA Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury announced about a new Film and TV institute going to be made very soon in the state on such a public event on Tuesday, the filmy minds and aspirants of this field burst into sheer excitement and joy congratulating and thanking him for showing his earnest interest for making such autonomous commercial reel arts academy in the state.
Anyways, it was a very long old demand of the telefilm and reel artists of this state which is going to be happen very soon in the state. The new institute is likely to come up in collaboration with Kolkata’s Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute said Sushanta in his speech.
Chowdhury said officials from the Tripura government have already had talks with representatives of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) and are expecting a positive response.The Tripura government has also discussed the plans with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, Chowdhury said.
Also, CM Biplab Kumar Deb has given his nod to the proposal of setting up a film and television institute in the state and sent a note to the state’s chief secretary in this connection, said Chowdhury.
The Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute in Kolkata, which is likely to function as a mentor institute for the upcoming facility in Tripura, is national centre of excellence that offers post-graduate programmes in cinematic studies.
The Tripura government has also discussed this matter with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, asserted the ICA Minister.
“I have met Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, during my recent visit to Delhi. The minister assured us help and also expressed his keenness to visit Tripura,” – Chowdhury said at a press conference in Agartala on December 14.
