We must make it a regular habit to do yoga that has been practiced since ancient times: CM

“It is important to practice yoga to keep oneself healthy especially in Covid situation.

Yoga is an ancient practise of our country. In the ancient times, people used to keep themselves healthy and disease-free by practising yoga,” expressed Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on the occasion of International Yoga Day celebration held at NSRCC Indoor Stadium today.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the programme organised by the department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Tripura with the assistance of State Ayush Mission by lighting the diya and took part in the yoga programme.

He said, “We must all adopt the health guidelines and yoga practice introduced by the Ayush Ministry mentioned by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his public message during the first wave of Covid.

Country’s economy is still stable with the able leadership of the Prime Minister even in the pandemic situation with which the goal of building Shrestha Bharat is upsurging.”

The Chief Minister urged everyone to stay aware, negate the Covid rumours and to follow Covid health guidelines.

He added, “Regular physical exercise is a necessary habit to keep ourselves healthy.

Everyone in our state from urban to rural areas is aware of yoga and physical exercises and has participated in national events.

The goal of celebrating Yoga Day will only be fruitful when we can spread more awareness about the need of regular yoga practise across the state.”
