Work with specific plans to increase the livelihood of the economically backward SC people: CM

The SC Welfare Department has to work out a specific plan to increase the livelihood of the economically backward SC section of the State.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb chaired a review meeting of SC Welfare Department in the presence of Minister of SC welfare Bhagaban Das.

Reviewing the progress of various projects of the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department in the meeting, the Chief Minister said the government is working with utmost importance to bring the Scheduled Caste people to the forefront through overall development including education and economic development.

He advised the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department to take necessary steps to make this section of people financially self-sufficient by associating them with different professions.

The Chief Minister emphasized on making the benefits of various projects of the Central and State Governments implemented through the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department more public.

The Chief Minister said that the beneficiaries who have become financially self-sufficient through the various schemes of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department need to be encouraged and their successes need to be made public.

As a result, others will be inspired by it. The Chief Minister advised the department to take necessary steps to avail the facility of bank loan for the financially self-reliant fishermen of Scheduled Castes who have been trained in fish farming.
