Worthy beneficiaries are being given maintaining transparency: Santana Chakma

An awareness-based seminar was organized for social pension beneficiaries of Pecharthal block at Pecharthal Town Hall.

The seminar was organized by Pecharthal ICDS Project of Social Welfare & Social Education department.

After inaugurating the seminar, Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Santana Chakma said, the government from the start, has been making efforts to provide social pension to worthy beneficiaries.

Earlier, the pension used to be sent on dead person’s name. All those names have been cut off now.

She said, after the present government took over, the social pension has been increased from 700 rupees to 1 thousand rupees.

The government has already announced that the social pension will be increased to 2 thousand rupees before this Durga Puja.

Apart from increasing the pension amount, various schemes have been started for welfare of the poor. People from all walks of the society are being benefited.
