Government approves export of power for 18 hours a day to Nepal Electricity Authority till the 31st of December this year.

The Ministry of Power said the approval has been given for upto six hundred Megawatt of export through Muzaffarpur – Dhalkebar line and up to 54 Megawatt through Tanakpur – Mahendranagar line.

The recent floods have caused significant damage to hydropower infrastructure in Nepal, reducing its domestic power generation capacity and creating an additional requirement for electricity.
