In a joint operation, Police and Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a truck and seized ‘ganja’ (cannabis) worth around Rs 70 lakh in Tripura’s Churaibari on November 24.
The joint operation was done by Tripura police and Border Security Force.
The ganja was being transported from Tripura to Guwahati on way to other states where it has a ever hungry market.
They have seized 88 packets of dry cannabis weighing 818 kg. While speaking to media, the police official said, “The driver of the truck has been detained. The ‘ganja’ consignment was seized from a truck with a Haryana registration number from the Churaibari check post at the Tripura-Assam border.” Further investigation is underway in this regard.
