92 percent of Journalists vaccinated against COVID-19 in Tripura: Pranab Sarkar

Amidst the second wave of the coronavirus, National Secretary of Indian Journalists Union and Agartala Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar has undertaken noteworthy measures to deal with the prevailing situation of pandemics in Tripura with ample cooperation of the Health Dept.

92% of Journalists in Tripura has been vaccinated which is the only instance in whole country.

COVID-19 crisis has not stopped Pranab Sarkar, Secretary of Indian Journalists Union and Agartala Press Club Secretary from standing besides Journalists.

Pranab Sarkar, however, has been on the forefront ever since the pandemic struck Tripura last year. During the second wave too, he is working tirelessly to help those in need.

IJU National Secretary Pranab Sarkar said “During the two waves of COVID pandemic in Tripura, two Journalist already succumbed while more than 30 journalists were infected with this deadly virus and at present, all of them recovered. We have distributed masks, sanitizers, and PPE kits among journalists and photo journalists in Agartala city along with 8 districts and 23 sub divisions as these were the lone precautionary measure”.

” Massive vaccination drive has been initiated in the premises of Agartala Press Club and Indian Medical Association’s Tripura state branch head office. Already, more than 92% of the journalists and media personnel were vaccinated through several camps arranged across the state and till date, four camps a were arranged in Agartala Press Club were initiated with the immense support of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb”, said Sarkar.
