In the 2026 DUSU elections, ABVP’s Yash Dabas won president with 24,576 votes over NSUI’s Vijay Shankar Meena’s 22,523, while ABVP also claimed secretary and joint secretary posts.
Independent Deepanshu Shokeen, a former NSUI member, took vice-president with a decisive 30,615 votes, as voter turnout hit 40.46 percent across 52 centres.
The wins came amid student worries over campus safety after a deadly hostel collapse, housing shortages, and infrastructure gaps.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the ‘nation-first’ mandate, and Shokeen vowed to tackle real issues ahead.
