Central and state governments are working on priority for the welfare of farmers.
Specific plans have been taken to double the income of farmers.
Agriculture Minister Pranjit Singha Roy said this while inaugurating Nalchar Agriculture Sub-Division Office in Jumerdhepa Panchayat on Saturday.
The Agriculture Minister said that not only infrastructural development should be done, it should include furniture, staff, and necessary materials.
He added, “India is a major agricultural country, most of its people are engaged in agriculture. Therefore, the agricultural sector should be developed. Otherwise there will be no economic development.”
The agriculture minister said that the state government has decided to open sub-divisional agriculture offices in 18 blocks of the state.
This initiative has been taken to facilitate the communication of the officials and employees of the Agriculture Department with the farmers.
He also said that Krishakbandhu Kendra is operational for the convenience of farmers. Farmers can get farming advice from officials here.
