Khowai: Allegations of misuse of government-allocated cement have surfaced against Khowai Panchayat Samiti chairperson Tinku Bhattacharya, triggering strong reactions among local residents.

According to allegations, cement earmarked for government development works was allegedly being diverted for the construction of a private residence belonging to the Panchayat Samiti chairperson.

The issue came to light when a cement-laden vehicle reportedly arrived at Tinku Bhattacharya’s residence late at night. Local residents allegedly intercepted the vehicle and raised questions over the purpose and destination of the cement.

The allegations have sparked widespread discussion in the area, with residents demanding a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action if the allegations are found to be true.

Some locals have also demanded the removal of Tinku Bhattacharya from the post of Khowai Panchayat Samiti chairperson.
