Banks in India are going for strike from today. Banks across the country will observe Bandh (strike ) from today.
Whereas the Christmas holidays lined up in between will hamper the banking services for five days.
According to reports, All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) has called for a strike on December 21 whereas another union, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called another strike on December 26.
As the situation stands the banks will remain closed on December 22 and 23 on account of Fourth Saturday and Sunday.
December 25 will be national holiday for Christmas.
However, during strike services at ATM are expected to function normally.
Over 3.2 lakh officers of the Union are expected to participate in the Strike.
