Agartala, Nov 1: To boost the tourism industry in Tripura and showcase the natural beauty and cultural richness of the state to visitors from across the world, the Tourism Department has announced the organization of the Unity Promo Fest 2025.

Addressing a press conference at the Gitanjali Government Guest House this afternoon, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the event aims to strengthen Tripura’s image as an emerging tourist destination. The Unity Promo Fest will be organized in six locations across the state, each spanning two days, beginning with Narkelkunja on November 8.

The Minister informed that the first promo fest held last year was a great success, having been organized in four places. “This year, we have added the word Unity to emphasize that tourism development in the state can only be achieved through solidarity and the united efforts of people from all communities, castes, and tribes,” said Chowdhury.

To make the event more vibrant and engaging, this year’s Unity Promo Fest will include food festivals, fashion shows, sports events, and cultural programs that highlight Tripura’s local traditions. The fashion show will feature traditional attire from the state’s 19 tribal groups and Bengali communities, reflecting the diverse cultural heritage of Tripura.

Special emphasis will also be placed on promoting local talent and supporting local livelihoods to create employment opportunities through tourism.

As part of the opening program at Narkelkunja on November 8–9, popular state artists Krishnakoli Saha and Albert Kabo Lepcha will perform in the cultural segment.

The second event will be held at Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Mahavidyalaya College Ground, Belonia, on November 15–16, featuring a live performance by renowned Bollywood playback singer Palak Muchhal on the second day.

Minister Chowdhury expressed confidence that this year’s Unity Promo Fest will attract a large number of visitors and further enhance Tripura’s position on the national and global tourism map.

Udaipur, Gomati (Nov 19-20): Live concert by popular singer Papon.

Jampui Hills (Nov 28-29): Musical acts by a band from Mizoram alongside local performers.

Neer Mahal, Sepahijala (Dec 4-5): Performance by Indian Idol winner Debojit Saha from Silchar.

The festival will conclude with a grand finale in Agartala on December 11 and 12, where celebrated Bollywood singer Zubeen Nautiyal will perform on the final night.
