BJP MLA Binoy Bhusan Das takes oath as Tripura assembly’ s pro-tem speaker

The MLA of Panisagar Assembly constituency, Binoy Bhusan Das took oath as the Pro-tem Speaker of the Tripura Assembly on March 15 at Raj Bhavan.

Mr. Das was sworn in by Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Saha, his Cabinet colleagues.

Senior BJP legislator Binoy Bhusan Das said that legislators of the 60-member Assembly of Tripura will take oath on March 16 and 17.

He added that he will conduct the House till new Speaker and Deputy Speaker are elected.
The next session of the North-eastern state will begin on March 24.

The Chief Minister, eight ministers, as well as opposition leaders will participate in the Assembly session. Notably, the BJP won 32 seats in 2023 Assembly elections in Tripura, and its ally IPFT won one seat.

The CPIM-Congress alliance bagged 14 seats, while regional party Tipra Motha got 13 Assembly seats.
