BJP won’t get more than 125 seats in Lok Sabha polls: Mamata
Ahead of her mega anti-Modi rally in Kolkata on Saturday, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has claimed that the ruling BJP won’t cross the 125-mark in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
I can’t say how much Congress will get but BJP won’t get more than 125 seats, Banerjee quipped while overseeing preparations of the rally at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade ground on Thursday evening.
Referring to her historic 1992 rally at the same venue where she, as the state Youth Congress president had rung the death knell against Bengal’s ruling Left front regime, Banerjee said the BJP’s decline too has started and Saturday’s rally will further mark the end of the Modi regime.
It is a platform to fight the 2019 battle against the BJP and every political party will address the nation from this rally, she said adding that it will be a mega show of strength by the TMC.
Hitting out at detractors of a mega opposition alliance against the BJP, Banerjee said, In every state, there is some political compulsion, but don’t worry it will be a gathbandhan of the people.
