Keeping in view of Prime Minister Modi’s Vision for Clean and healthy India, Border Security Force has also actively participated in “Swachh bharat abhiyan” by conducting special cleaning drives in all the BSF Campuses, their surroundings and the remote bordering areas.
Thus, promoting & valuably contributing to this noble cause of Environmental Conservation. Organising events like ‘Swatchhta Pakhwada’, Cleanliness Drives, Tree plantations etc. and sensitizing & spreading awareness regarding “Swachh bharat abhiyan” among common people of the Society has become a regular feature of the Sentinels of the Border.
The first day of “Swatchhta Pakhwada” was coinciding with 55th Raising Day of the Border Guardians; BSF troops under Tripura Frontier took oath to meet the challenges of Cleanliness of their surroundings by organising different special drives with effect from 1st Dec to 15 Dec 2019. During the series of such special drives, Tripura Frontier along with all Sector HQs and Field Formations carried out extensive cleaning of their Campuses down upto Border Out Posts (BOPs) level.
Further, to mark this event, different initiatives were also undertaken to include Community Area Adoption, Systematic Waste Disposal Plan (Segregation of Organic and Inorganic Waste), Community Awareness on Cleanliness & Plastic Free Environment, display of “Swachhata Message” through Banners, Posters and Hoardings of “Shramdan Drives” for Green and Clean area by BSF troops and their families and Tree Plantation in BSF Campuses and surrounding areas. Locals as well as Border Population also actively participated in this Hygiene & Cleanliness Campaign.
The above intensive ‘Cleanliness Drives’ by BSF particularly at public places like Primary Health Centres, Bordering areas, Schools in remote areas, nearby Railways Stations, National Highways and prominent Tourist places like Unakoti were highly appreciated by all the sections of the Society.
