BSF apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals (including 03 males & 01 female) while they were trying to negotiate the border fencing along the border at Shyampara in Sabroom in South Tripura today.

On preliminary interrogation the apprehended people admitted that they are residents of Chattogram district in Bangladesh. It was stated in a press statement released by BSF.

In separate operations, the statement said, one Bangladeshi national was apprehended in the area of Border Out Post Anandpur under Sonamura in Sepahijala district, Tripura. The individual was found in possession of Bangladeshi Currency, 3600/-( BD Taka) & Indian Currency ₹ 3000 /-.

The apprehended Bangladeshi national is a resident of District Dhaka, Bangladesh  
The BSF troops, on the same day, apprehended two Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, one each from Dharmanagar in North Tripura district & in the area of Border Out Post Sabroom,  Sabroom, South District, Tripura along with ₹ 5540/- (Indian currency) in their possession. Apprehended Bangladesh nationals are residents of Dhaka District & Comilla District of Bangladesh respectively.

In a separate coordinated joint operation conducted by BSF troops along with sister agencies, two Bangladeshi nationals ( 01 male & 01 female) were apprehended at Agartala railway station while they were attempting to board the train. Both apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Mymensingh District of Bangladesh.

The BSF statement said further inquiry is under progress. In recent times BSF has not only intensified the operations against the infiltrators but also strengthened the anti-infiltration apparatus to prevent the infiltration into Indian territory.
