BSF seizes huge quantity of Drug items in Tripura

The BSF seized a huge quantity of drug items worth over Rs. 2 crores with their constant efforts in minimising the menace of smuggling through Indo-Bangladesh international border.

The BSF Tripura frontier stated that the drug items were seized during a series of joint operations.

It was also stated in the press conference that DRI officials & Sonamura police along with the border troops jointly performed the operation.
The seized illegal items include 1179 kgs of marijuana, 553 bottles of Eskuff cough syrup.
Further, 2 vehicles, 1 Motorcycles and Indian currency of Rs. 7, 24,130, were also seized.
Around 42 cattle heads were also recovered during the operation.

According to the BSF press communique, one suspected smuggler and two infiltrators were apprehended in different operations on July 19.

Based on their input, a special operation was conducted by a joint team of the BSF troops, Sonamura police and DRI officials in the house of 40-year old Kabir Hossain and 45-year old Monir Hossain and recovered the contraband items.
