Club culture has now changed in the state. Clubs are now organizing blood donation, yoga, sports and various cultural programmes. Clubs have taken initiatives to reform the society by removing addiction and domestic violence from the society. This initiative of the clubs has changed the face of the society today.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating blood donation camp and Rabindra-Nazrul birth anniversary programme organized by Yuva Samaj Club in Joyanagar yesterday, Appreciating the initiative of the Yava Samaj Club, the Chief Minister said that the state government has taken various steps to expand and improve health services Various clubs, social organizations and institutions of the state should take a more leading role to make Tripura drug free. Everyone must work together to prevent domestic violence and social degradation.
The Chief Minister also said that there is no greater donation than blood donation. Blood donation is the greatest of all donations in society. 3 to 4 patients’ lives are saved by the blood of one blood donor. Currently there are 12 public and 2 private blood banks in the state.
At present, blood banks have about 42 thousand units of blood. There are 2 medical colleges in the state.

After the programme, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha unveiled the plaque and laid the foundation stone of this pond renovation and beautification project.
General Secretary of Yuva Samaj Club Subrata Dey delivered the welcome address on the occasion Mayor-in-Council of Agartala Municipal Corporation Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya, Corporator Janhvi Das Chowdhury, President of Yuva Samaj Club Samir Raryan Roy and others were present at the programme. 21 people donated blood in the camp.
