CM to unveil statue of Mahatma Gandhi on June 17

The statue of Mahatma Gandhi will be unveiled on the afternoon of June 17 at Dakshineshwari Kalibari in Renters Colony, an initiative of Mahatma Research Foundation.

Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha will unveil the statue. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Assembly Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Pal and other dignitaries will be present on the occasion.

On this occasion, a drawing competition was held in the premises of Agartala Renters Colony Dakshineshwari Kalimandir in the joint initiative of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation and Mahatma Research Foundation.

A total of 98 contestants participated in the competition in 4 categories. The competition was inaugurated by the Chairman of Mahatma Foundation and eminent writer Shyamal Chowdhury. State Law Secretary Biswajit Palit and Tripura Tourism Department Deputy Director Mrinal Kanti Das were present on the occasion among others.
