Matabari, Nov 1: The Lakshmipati Gram Panchayat under the Matabari block remained locked on Friday, causing frustration among local residents who had gathered to address various civic issues.

The visit was organized at the initiative of the CPIM Maharani Regional Committee, where people from the Lakshmipati Gram Panchayat area came to the office seeking solutions to long-pending problems. However, on arrival, they found the Panchayat office locked.

According to the CPIM, many local residents have not received payment in their bank accounts despite completing work under the MGNREGA scheme for a long time. The party stated that the gathering was meant to submit their demands and find a resolution to these issues.

Finding the office closed, the aggrieved people expressed disappointment, saying they were unsure whom to approach for help. The CPIM leaders further announced that in the coming days, they would mobilize local residents to return to the Panchayat office collectively to press for their demands and solutions.
