Divyangjans are the most beautiful persons of the society. They inspire people to have positive attitude towards life, stated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at National Health Festival organized for Divyangjans at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel.

In the beginning of the event, Divyangjans performed yoga in front of the Chief Minister and other guests. Then the Chief Minister released white balloons and inaugurated the event.

The event was organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with the initiative of Special Olympics Bharat-Tripura and Abhay Mission. In the event, Divyangjans had their health check-up and were handed over different items such as shoes, hygiene items etc.

The Chief Minister said, the state government’s duty is to deliver all kinds of government facilities to the weaker section of the society.

But in the past days, these children were identified as handicapped which is an insulting term for them and their family.

Prime Minister has changed the name after taking over the government as ‘Divyangjans’ which means those who came to the World for doing something special.

Encouraging their parents, the Chief Minister said, those who have everything are not able to do many things. Name, Money, Property, are not the factors of becoming a good man.
