Sushanta Chowdhury, Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) minister chaired a review meeting of “Jal Jeevan Mission” at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala.

Various senior officials of DWS department including Chief Engineer Shyamlal Bhowmik, Secretary Abhishek Singh, Director Rajib Majumder were present in the meeting.

Besides, representatives of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited as well as executives, supervisors and assistant engineers of various circles of the DWS department were present in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, DWS department’s Minister Chowdhury said that people and the administration have to work together to accelerate the overall development of Tripura.
He added that the DWS department should work on a mission mode to deliver purified drinking water to every house in the state.

Chowdhury also said that concerned officials should remember to deliver drinking water connections to almost all families by December.

He directed everyone in the meeting to complete the tender process of the work quickly.

Chowdhury said that almost 55% of the houses in Tripura have already been connected with drinking water.
