Agartala, June 10: A notification claiming that all Saturdays would be observed as holidays in non-Vidya Jyoti schools across Tripura and that school timings for the remaining five working days would be from 9 am to 5 pm has gone viral on social media, creating confusion among parents, teachers and students.
The viral document has also raised several questions regarding its language and content. The confusion intensified as the state government recently introduced a five-day working week for government offices, leading many to speculate whether a similar decision had been taken for schools.
However, the Education Department has categorically denied the authenticity of the notification.
Speaking on Wednesday, Asim Saha, Joint Director of Secondary Education, said that the notification circulating on social media is completely fake and has not been issued by the department.
“No such decision has been taken by the Education Department regarding school holidays or changes in school timings,” Saha clarified.
The department has urged the public not to believe or share unverified information and to rely only on official communications for updates related to educational institutions.
