AGARTALA: Former Chief Minister and CPI(M) Politburo member Manik Sarkar launched a scathing attack on the state and central governments, as well as the Tipra Motha-led Autonomous District Council (ADC) administration.
Delivering the keynote address, Sarkar accused a section of elected ADC representatives of betraying the public trust. He pointed out that despite securing 24 seats to come to power in the ADC, Tipra Motha has failed to form functional working committees or announce any meaningful development programs since the elections.
Sarkar further alleged that the ADC region is currently reeling under severe crisis, marked by widespread unemployment, lack of livelihood opportunities, and growing poverty. He expressed deep concern over what he described as attempts by Tipra Motha to mislead the state’s youth for political gain, warning that divisive politics is being prioritized over genuine development and public welfare.
