Full team of ECI reaches Tripura to review poll preparedness

A delegation headed by the Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar arrived in Tripura on a two-day visit to the state as per schedule to review the preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections 2023.

On the first day of the state visit, the Election Commissioner held a review meeting with the representatives of various political parties in the state guest house on Wednesday afternoon.

Later held a review meeting with the State Chief Electoral Officer, SPNO, DEO and SP.
In this meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer and the Nodal Officer of the State Police briefed the Commission with detailed information about the preparations for the Assembly Elections, 2023 and security related matters.

The commission reviewed the entire election preparation phase in each district of the state.
In this case the DEO and SP of the concerned district informed the Commission about their preparations.

The commission also held a review meeting with the nodal officers of various central and state agencies concerned with elections to ensure an incitement-free and free election in the state.

On Thursday, the Commission will hold a meeting with the Chief Secretary of the State, the Director General of the State Police and all the Secretaries of the State Government regarding the election preparation phase.

A ceremony will also be held on Thursday at the premises of Ujjayanta Palace where voter identity cards will be issued among the new voters and a press conference will be held on behalf of Election Commission of India at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan.
