Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs said this after the prize distribution ceremony of the final game of the ML Plaza Rakhal Smriti Knockout Football Competition at Umakanta Mini Stadium on Sunday.

In the final of the ML Plaza Rakhal Smriti Knockout Football organized by Tripura Football Association, Egiye Chalo Sangha defeated Forward Club 2-1 to clinch the title of champions.
After the award ceremony, Sushanta Chowdhury said that the state government is taking various steps in the anti-drug campaign.

He added that sports will play an important role in this campaign. Minister said that the government has also taken significant steps to improve sports infrastructure.

He further said that a synthetic turf football field has already been constructed at the Umakanta Mini Stadium and 7 more such Turf fields will be constructed in different parts of Tripura in the next few days.
