Heavy rainfall across several parts of Kerala led to rising water levels in rivers and dams and caused water logging in low lying areas.
IMD has issued orange alert for nine northern districts today. Yellow alert was also issued to the remaining five districts of the state.
The weather department also predicted strong surface winds upto 40 kmph, likely at one or two places in all districts of the state.
