To discharge our social responsibility, there is no substitute for blood donation to fulfil social responsibility through which we can effect welfare of the country and humankind, enunciated Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushanta Choudhury after inaugurating blood donation camp cum anti-drug workshop at Bir Bikram Shatabarshiki Auditorium Hall of Tripura University today organized by NSS. Total 77 persons have donated blood at the blood donation camp yesterday.
YAS Minister said, the new generation must build themselves as responsible citizens besides building their careers. In this regard, the role of parents is very important. He said, it is not possible to produce blood through artificial ways which is why the recipients of blood ure completely dependent on donated blood. YAS Minister called on the students of the university to donate blood whenever they can. He lauded state’s NSS unit for organizing blood donation camps and playing significant role in this regard.
He said, the present young generation has to be kept away from any kind of drug addiction because addiction destroys the family, society and the nation. He hoped for overall participation of the young generation in the activities that the state government has taken steps for. It is not possible for the government alone to build drug free Tripura. In this regard, the people of the state have to come forward.
Others present in the blood donation camp were Dean of Student’s Welfare Prof. Sabyasachi Das Gupta Coordinator Rajesh Chatterjee, State Liaison Officer of NSS unit Dr. Chitrajit Bhowmik. The programme was presided over by Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University Prof Gangaprasad Prasain. Later, the YAS Minister and other dignitaries visited blood donation camp and encouraged the students.
