
India saw a dip in daily cases, reporting 3,68,147 new infections on Monday. In the last 24 hours, 3,417 Covid-related deaths were reported in the country. About 49% of the new cases have been reported from five states Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
A week-long lockdown in Haryana has been imposed from Monday amid a sharp surge in coronavirus cases. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court called upon the Centre to revisit its vaccine procurement policy and also urged it and the states “to consider imposing a lockdown to curb the virus in the second wave in the interest of public welfare”.
