Addressing a press conference at CPI (M) headquarters in Agartala, CPI (M) state secretary Goutam Das alleged that since declaration of assembly election results 2018, the ruling party has been continuing their attack and violence and created a total panic situation in Tripura.
“The democratic rights of opposition parties are being suppressed since first day of the present BJP IPFT government, but role of police administration is also totally disappointing”, said Gautam Das.
After announcement of poll notifications, the party candidate for West Tripura parliamentary seat has been attacked four times, similarly candidate of East Tripura seat has also been attacked in different venues along attacks and blocking of election campaign by leaders in different spots of the state, said Das, adding that even leaders like Manik Sarkar, Badal Chaudhury and Parikshit Mura Singh were not spared by miscreants of ruling party.
Since March 6 last, when our central team met the full bench of ECI at New Delhi to create a terror free atmosphere of democracy in Tripura before the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and after series of complaints to CEO, Tripura and ECI, nothing has changed so far, alleged Gautam Das.
