A meeting of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Standing Committee on Health was held in West Tripura Zilla Parishad conference hall recently. Member of the Standing committee Papiya Das Nandi presided over the meeting. Other members of the committee along with the officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
An official of the Education Department said in the meeting that recently Rangutia J.B School has been upgraded to High School and Patunagar High School to Higher Secondary School. In the current fiscal year, 4871 bicycles will be distributed among girl students in West District.
Apart from this, students in every school from pre-primary level to class III will be taught Bengali and Mathematics under NIPUN Tripura scheme. Health Department official said that under Sushtha Tripura, Shrestha Tripura, anaemia diagnosis and treatment services will be provided to people of 6 months to 20 years of age and 21 to 49 years of age through blood testing. Besides, folic acid tablets will be distributed in different schools and Anganwadi centres.
The officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education informed that Scheduled caste women, Divyangjan women, BPL card holders, E-Shram card holders, Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiaries, REGA card holders, Ayushman card holders and pregnant women having Rs.8 lakh anuual family income will be covered under Pradhan Mantri Matru Bandana Yojana Rs.
An official of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department informed that 10 open gyms have been opened in west district, and there will be coaching centres in the premises of Ranirbazar School, Nabagram High School, AD Nagar High School and BR Ambedkar High School. Besides, awareness programme on drug free Tripura was held in 49 wards of Agartala Municipal Corporation area.
