New waterways between Tripura and Bangladesh to begin in 3 months: CM

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today said that ships will arrive in Sonamura with in the next three months.

A temporary jetty to be installed in next 3/4 months, Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb told Media in the sideline of his visit to Sepahijala district on Friday.

Deb said that a temporary jetty would be built at Sonamura in western Tripura within three months before starting the new waterways through Gomati river between Tripura and Bangladesh.

“After operating the small vessels to carry various goods during the monsoon season, dredging for operating big vessels and ships would start in the Gomati river during the winter season,” Deb said.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also visited Bishalgarh Municipal Council today, held thorough discussions with local administration and health staff on the COVID19 situation.

He also discussed the latest quarantine status and the government assistance provided to the people.

He had also interacted with the officials & health staff regarding COVID-19 during my visit to Purba Nalchar Gram Panchayat, Sipahijala Dist.
