As India marks the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi today, celebrations will be in full swing across the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mahatma’s resting place Rajghat in the morning and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation.
He was accompanied by JP Nadda and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
Later he also visited Vijay Ghat to pay floral tributes to the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shahstri on his 145th birth anniversary.
Later in the day, PM will also visit Sabarmati Ashram and participate in Swachh Bharat Diwas 2019 program, according to a post on the official Twitter handle of BJP.
Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi was also there at Rajghat. Her party workers later in the day will take a mass oath to carry forward Mahatma Gandhi’s vision.
