Agartala, September 21, 2026: Prabhapur Upper Primary School under the Jampuijala IS has been facing several problems for a long time, causing difficulties for students and teachers alike.

The school currently has around 40 students studying from Class I to Class VIII, with seven teachers. However, students have raised concerns over the lack of adequate and good-quality desks and benches in the classrooms.

Students have also highlighted the need for safe drinking water at the school. During the rainy season, water reportedly leaks through the roofs of some classrooms, creating difficulties for students and disrupting their studies.

Another major concern is the absence of a proper boundary wall around the school premises. Students also reportedly do not have adequate seating arrangements while having their mid-day meals.

Meanwhile, some students and parents have alleged that despite the school having seven teachers, some teachers do not attend regularly. They further claimed that late arrival by some teachers often affects the regular conduct of classes.

Students and parents have urged the concerned department and administration to take immediate steps to address the school’s infrastructure-related issues and ensure a proper learning environment.

The students and parents are now waiting to see when concrete measures will be taken to resolve the long-standing problems at the school.
