Pranab Sarkar Met Advocate General Shidhartha Sankar Dey regarding murder case of two Journalists

Agartala Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar and Asst Secretary Ramakanta Dey met state government Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey in the Tripura High Court.

Advocate General Siddharth Shankar Dey has expressed surprise that the trial of journalist Sudip Dutta Bhowmik and journalist Santanu Bhowmik has not been completed yet and the accused have not been given exemplary punishment.

Today, Agartala Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar and Asst Secretary Ramakant Dey met state government Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey in the Tripura High Court and demanded appropriate action to expedite the proceedings in the two murder cases.

Representatives of the Agartala Press Club expressed outrage and dissatisfaction with the role of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

It may be mentioned here that in 2017, these two talented journalists were brutally killed.

Later in 2018, the state government handed over the investigation of these two murders to the CBI.

But three years later, the state’s journalists are angry that the CBI has not arrested the real culprits and given them appropriate punishment.

Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar of the state government advised Pranab Sarkar, secretary of Agartala Press Club, to take legal action to expedite the process of appropriate punishment for those involved in the killings.
