Preparations for 2023 Tripura Assembly Elections started !

The state election commission has conducted a special revision meeting regarding the voters list involving members of all parties.

Representatives of the BJP, Congress, CPIM and other parties were present in the meeting.
While addressing the media, BJP representative Balai Goswami criticised opposition parties and demanded the preparation of a transparent voter list.

Congress representative and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha demanded to increase paramilitary forces at election booths.

CPIM representative Ratan Das said that none of the elections in the last 4 and half years were conducted properly and the current situation is not suitable for a smooth election.
He also said that such issues will be discussed in next meeting.

Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte highlighted the key points for the meeting.

He said that those who have completed 17 years of age can apply as voters and their names will appear in the voter database automatically when they turns 18 years old based on software algorithm.

Special camps will be conducted in all colleges.
Other initiatives has been taken to enroll 100 percent new voters.

Besides, false voters will removed from the list and corrections or revisions will also be done.
Gitte also said that the voter list addition and revision process would start from November 9.
