Preparatory meeting for peaceful conduct of upcoming Durga Puja festival

A preparatory meeting was held on the occasion of upcoming Durga Puja Festival on 6 September, 2023 at the conference hall of Longtharai valley Sub-divisional Magistrate, Chailengta. The agenda of the meeting was briefly discussed by SDM Uttam Kumar Bhowmik in presence of MI.A Shambhu Lal Chakma, MDC Sanjoy Das along with SDPO of Manu Raju Reang and SDPO of Longtharai valley Sonacharan Jamatia. Likewise, officials of various line departments, and also representatives of different Clubs and NGOs under this. Subdivision were present in the meeting.

Longtharai valley Police and Civil administration has appealed to all the stakeholders and different Puja committees under this jurisdiction to be aware and responsible to follow the imposed “model code of conduct” during puja season. If any defaulter is notified, then. disciplinary actions shall be imposed upon them and their committees in whatsoever manner it may be. Agendas on electricity connection, power consumption, road clearance, barricade and sufficient space for movement of emergency services like, Fire Tenders, Ambulance and VIP and Patrolling Car, traffic management, security deployment and arrangement of volunteers by respective organising clubs to be covered up as per the available resources

The SDM has said that another review meeting should be conducted in Block and Police station (PS) level involving all Club’s and Puja committees with local stakeholders. And later, a final review meeting shall be held in the Sub-divisional level. The SDM requested all those present to extend their full cooperation accordingly, so that this festival can be organized in a befitting manner.
