After the departure of the previous chairman Mahendra Mohan Goswami, it was assumed that peace and tranquility shall prevail in the bank. There was large scale resentment among the staffs of the bank due to dictator like attitude of the previous chairman.
No issue was resolved rather his unilateral and biased decisions used to dictate the bank. Then started the new regime of satyendra Singh. Originally from punjab national Bank, the sponsor Bank of TGB, started his functioning in totally different manner but most decisions that he has taken are very much detrimental for the bank as well as the employees of the Bank. Being a man from Jharkhand, he only believes that the people from his own state can work and all the employees and officers of Tripura Gramin Bank are useless.
Fact remains that its the original peoples from the state revived the Bank from huge amount of loss. The huge turn around was possible only because the then regime of staffs of the bank toiled hard to save the bank and now this bank is a household name reaching all the remotest corners of the state. He refuses to meet the employees of the bank and always in the habit of misbehaving with the employees of the bank. Recently three persons from Pnb have been Brought and assigned the duties that was earlier very successfully done by the TGB employees.
Despite having huge number of vacancies in all cadres, why is Sri Singh interested in bringing people from outside the state is not clear. Here sishir Kumar Rohtagi, the general manager, also from Jharkhand is playing a very dubious role by misguiding the chairman. And there comes the most important question, why all are from Jharkhand?
The answer is that one particular community in the country is attracting the other fellows from his own community is an age old tradition in our country.
Such type of biasness is not acceptable in the banking sector which only demands quality. So far as information received from our representative from the economic sector, the associations on the bank are fuming and despite several round of discussion, the chairman failed to negotiate with positivity and the associations are going to ‘work to rule’ from Monday.
What type of decisions are taken in the board meeting tomorrow is also matter to be looked. But one thing is very much assured that TGB associations and the Bank management shall be locking their horns and outcome will decide the future of the Bank.
The dictating attitude of both the chairman and the general Manager is the main hindrance and their ego is hurting the progress of the bank
