The state government has taken initiative to set up film institutes in the state.
A three-member delegation from the Satyajit Ray Film Institute in West Bengal visited the Nazrul Kalakshetra on Wednesday to set up a film institute in Agartala at the initiative of the state government’s Information Cultural Affairs Department.
The members of the delegation will decide after examining whether this film institute can be set up there.
They were accompanied by Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushant Chowdhury and other officials of the department.
They are scheduled to have a courtesy meeting with the Chief Minister. The minister said if it is possible to set up a film institute in the state, the people of the state will benefit from this industry.
State government is working on a plan to build a film industry in the state said Information and Cultural Affairs Minister.
The campus of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute is going to be opened in the state soon.
A delegation of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute jointly visited the campus of Nazrul Kalakshetra and expressed the possibility of setting up this film institute in a meeting held at the secretariat.
