Polling across nine Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal started on Sunday morning amidst reports of technical glitches and stray incidents of violence.
In certain polling stations, polling was delayed due to EVM malfunctioning and in some there were reports of VVPAT machine not working. EVMs in different parts of Kolkata were not functioning resulting in anger and frustration among voters.
Stray incidents of violence were reported from both north and south. The candidates of Opposition parties contesting from Kolkata North have alleged that their polling officers were threatened.
