Tension runs high in Dhalai district’s Ambassa and Kamalpur subdivision following assault on some bandh picketers and clash between bandh picketers and villagers.

Eight to ten bandh supporters were severely beaten up by local people at Ambassa Motorstand area when they were moving toward Nailafabari where hundreds of tribal people gathered to block the national highway.

The entire Kamalpur subdivision is tense following the clash between bandh picketers and villagers but additional forces have been deployed to control any untoward incident.

All the injured persons were taken to Kulai District hospital.
