The nation’s development is directly proportional to the development of the farmers. The present state government is determined to ensure doubling income and improving socio economic condition of the farmers, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is being implemented in the state to double farmers’ income, enunciated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha in an interaction programme with beneficiaries of PMKISAN and PMAY-G schemes organized at Chesrimai Higher Secondary School campus in Sepahijala yesterday.
The Chief Minister also said, our Prime Minister has given people their rights back. People are not afraid to dream anymore. Each and every person is getting his rights back. People of all sections of the society are getting the benefits of government’s welfare schemes. People now can witness the speed of development being brought by the government.
He said, there used to be a time when there was no development in Charilam. Now, development in all sectors can be seen happening-from roads to power, education to infrastructure. He said, the Prime Minister is giving great emphasis on the development of the Northeast region. There was a time when development of Northeast including Tripura was halted. But with the far sighted administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, people of the state can see development happening in each and every sector.
The Chief Minister said, the state government will continue to work in the same way just as the developmental works in Tripura were being implemented under the leadership of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
While speaking about PMKISAN scheme in. Sepahijala district, he said, 29 thousand 133 beneficiaries of the district have benefited under PMKISAN. Total 39 crore 15 lakh rupees has been provided to them. He said, this signifies government’s transparency. The money is directly being sent to the farmers’ bank accounts. This is the result of transparent vision of the central and the state government. He said, the central government launched PMAY-G on April 1, 2016.
Its main objective is to provide Pucca housing to those people in the country who do not have one by 2022. In case of hilly states, the financial assistance for construction of houses has been increased from 70 thousand rupees to 1 lakh 30 thousand rupees. Over 4 thousand beneficiaries in Sepahijala district have got Pucca houses in the financial year 2019-20, 1 lakh 59 thousand houses were granted for the state in the financial year 2021-22. Among those, 22 thousand 890 beneficiaries of PMAY-G are in Sepahijala district.
