The UnitedStates military has launched strikes against Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter off the Oman coast.

US officials said, the helicopter was brought down by an Iranian drone and the two pilots were rescued.

Following the US strikes, explosions were heard in the Iranian cities of Sirik, Minab, Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island, which border the #StraitOfHormuz.
