TIPRA Motha delegation meets Amit Shah over ‘Greater Tipraland demand’

On Saturday, a delegation from Tipra Motha, the primary opposition party in Tripura, held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

During the meeting, the delegation of the regional political party emphasized the need for a constitutional resolution to their request for ‘Greater Tipraland’.

Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma stated that Amit Shah provided assurance to the delegation that the central government would initiate discussions on the demands in the near future.

Speaking to reporters, Debbarma emphasized that their objective is crystal clear: they seek a constitutional resolution for the establishment of Greater Tipraland.

According to reports, the royal scion of Tripura told Amit Shah that their delegation’s primary goal is to secure the indigenous people’s right to a dignified life and rightful ownership of their land for future generations.

He said that they have no interest in pursuing any other agenda other than focusing on this particular issue.

Notably, Debbarma had previously met Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha in Agartala on June 29, where they engaged in discussions pertaining to various political and administrative issues.
