Baptu Chakraborty joined the Congress party from Banamalipur, Barjala, Bamutia, Khayerpur and Pratapgarh areas.

Most of the families and voters that joined Congress on Sunday are from Trinamool Congress.

They joined the Congress in a programme organized at the Congress Bhawan on Sunday by accepting party flags.

Most importantly, Baptu Chakraborty returned to the Congress from Trinamool.

Asish Saha, Sudip Roy Barman and Gopal Roy addressed the new entrants and party workers at Post Office Chowmani in front of the Congress Bhawan.

Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that Congress is the original political party that freed the country from British rule.

He added that today is a bright day for Congress, as those who had left the party out of confusion and frustration have returned to their original track. The Congress has regained its power and is growing stronger with the coming days.
